The-20-Grand-logoDetroit, Michigan has long been described as “The Music Capital of the World” for its rhythm & blues aficionados from around the globe. It all started here with The Flame Show Bar, The Fox Theater, Motown Records and the Original 20 Grand Club was located at 5020 14th & Warren that hosted the best of the best of rhythm & blues entertainment from the Motown Review and others.  That’s why The 20 Grand Juke Joint Rhythm & Blues Restaurant was created — to celebrate the area’s rich rhythm & blues heritage and to provide a forum in which it can continue.

The 20 Grand Juke Joint Rhythm & Blues Restaurant will be located next door to the legendary Fox Theatre in the heart of historic downtown Detroit. Owned by Harlem Clowns basketball player/ businessman, LaMont “ShowBoat” Robinson; will be the place for anyone looking for an authentic Rhythm & Blues music experience.

The 20 Grand Juke Joint Rhythm & Blues Restaurant will be part of the Official Rhythm & Blues Music Hall of Fame Museum. The 20 Grand Juke Joint Rhythm & Blues Restaurant will give you that old historic feeling of the juke joints of yesterday with pool tables, juke boxes and rhythm & blues memberilia from posters and showcases with outfits from The O’Jays, The Temptations, The Whispers, Gene Chandler, Chubby Checker, James Brown etc..

Our mission is to showcase the best of today’s Rhythm & Blues, Jazz, Blues musicians. Although some national acts perform from time to time, visitors are more likely to find the “real deal” at The 20 Grand Juke Joint Rhythm & Blues Restaurant — those musicians who live in the Motor-City will continue in the tradition of their musical legends Jackie Wilson, Aretha Franklin and The Temptations. Monday through Saturday there is always live music at The 20 Grand Juke Joint Rhythm & Blues Restaurant  (and even on a few Sundays when the occasion arises). We serve a “down home” menu ranging from plate lunches featuring the freshest vegetables and traditional Southern dishes to juicy hamburgers and — of course — crispy fried catfish, chicken wings and slow-cooked pork barbecue.
