Rhythm & Blues Music Hall of Fame will ask President Obama and the White House for support to build a permanent museum

rbhof_sml-1The Official Rhythm & Blues Music Hall of Fame Museum will be seeking support from President Obama and the White House to build this very much needed Hall of Fame Museum in the city of Detroit, Michigan. This is a museum that the world should support and get behind. Rock and Country music both have museum’s to tell the history of its legends. The first concept first came about in 1968 by comedian Bill Cosby, then in 2003 with music mogul Kenny Gamble. The Comedy King of Basketball LaMont “ShowBoat” Robinson of the Harlem Clowns comedy basketball team has been on the quest to make sure this project happens.

The Official Rhythm & Blues Music Hall of Fame Museum was founded in 2010 by Mr. Robinson, and since then to date the Hall of Fame has had 4 induction ceremonies and have inducted 105 musical legends, that gives full support of this project including the legendary Congressman John Conyers.

It’s very hard to believe that a museum of this kind is not already built for what rhythm & blues music has done for the fabric of music and the world. Music icons like Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, Little Willie John, The Temptations and others all deserve a permanent home were fans can come and see the history of rhythm & blues.
Robinson said from his office in Detroit that a letter has been sent to President Obama asking for his support. The officials for the project have located a possible site on the eastside of Detroit, that could very well be the home for the museum. The legendary Harpo’s Theater.

The Official Rhythm & Blues Music Hall of Fame Museum will be highly interactive, not just showcases and photos on the walls. To bring the R&B Hall to the Motor-City along with the Motown Museum that would make Detroit the Rhythm & Blues Capital of the World.

This is a once and a lifetime project that the White House, State of Michigan, Wayne County, and the City of Detroit should get behind and support. Robinson also said he and his board members have had several corporations and sponsors that have expressed an interest in the project. Also in negotiations with a media partner to nationally broadcast the 2016 induction ceremony. Blues Magazine
